20 Icons from Fire And Flight

Hello everyone!

I, ah, haven't really introduced myself yet, but here I am anyway. I love the idea of the readthrough: I've wanted to reread the original quest for ages and read on towards the material I've never seen before, especially now that it's all available on the Pini's website. It's quite inspiring too, and before I knew it, I found myself making icons of the first issue and thought I might as well share them.

They're simple little things (I prefer textless icons most of the time and it shows) but making them was fun. This is the first time I've created icons from a comic and working with or around speech bubbles isn't as easy as I thought... Anyway, for most of these, all I did was crop the image and fiddle around with various filters for a little bit to make the image clearer in 100x100 pixles or enhance the colours. What I'm trying to say is, feel free to use these as bases for your own icons or as icons as they are or whatever. Icon making credits would be nice and make me smile but aren't necessary.

Enjoy!

I icon'd the first few issues, when they started posting the digital format on the website.

I like these! Grand job!

I only seem to have four of them still uploaded.

It's a mixed batch there, and nothing fancy.

Oooh pretty!

And yeah, working around the text bubbles is annoying. But the whole series screams "make six zillion icons from me! Now!"

Potential insane project for insane iconmakers with too much free time and obsession with Photoshop:

Retell the whole story in icons, with text that's readable in the icon itself, or a single line of words that fits under the icon.

(Not recommended as part of readthrough, which moves too fast for that.)

Yep, a tag for you. I like browsing communities by people tags, makes it easier to find what I want. *g*

Like your icons, by the way, and sorry for not saying so sooner. (Got distracted by cats.) Especially the second to last, when they are looking over the desert landscape.

I prefer textless icons, too, most of the time.

Is it weird that I didn't love the digital covering when flipping through the book, but I adore it when it's icon-sized? Anyway, these are gorgeous.

Wow, these colours are fabulous in icon size! I am taking a whole bunch of these, and the ones in your other post, and will probably now spend a looong time agonizing over which ones to choose!
