Also, as to the violence bit... It seems odd when you have read more of the comics and seen what big deal an elf killing another elf is later, and you re-read this and see Treestump suggesting Strongbow should maybe shoot Rayek before he can cause trouble.

Yes, that. Also, Leetah says "Please don't kill Rayek". Why does she do so if the concept or hurting someone deliberately seems so alien to her?
