Does anyone else think Page 9--Cutter & Skywise in the river--is possibly the slashiest scene in the series so far? (Anybody want to write fic that covers the time between pages 8 & 9?)

In one of the interviews, they'd mentioned that Wendy's original plan involved Skywise dying in this issue, and Richard vetoed it. That would've, hmm, rather drastically changed things later. Maybe not so much the original quest, but the later series would've been very different.

That one panel where Skywise is completely under water and we only see the question mark? Yeah. *g* And Cutter does have a nice body...

And yay, icons. I like the "snap!" one a lot!

Oh stars, I can't even imagine how different it would have been with Skywise dying at this point.

There was a scene in an earlier issue that was pretty darn slashy, too - but this is def in the top-3 :o)

ETA: And now I'm just reading in #10 that Skywise has always known Cutter's soulname, muahahah. I.e. <3

Loved the man/elf interactions here. Cutter handled himself pretty smooth - they must have observed lots of human customs in all those years living close to them. A ritual sacrifice as gesture of peace and goodwill? I remember that it quite surprised me when I read the comics as a kid.

Uh, and now I kind of want to slash Olbar and Cutter. Don't ask. *g*

Oh, and that very last panel? Brilliant! Not really a cliffhanger but so very ominous!
